i love the game, it's a calm and peaceful one and it gives a good sense of progression as well! i also want to report a glitch though, i fed a orca, maybe because it was spamming the feed button or there hunger bar went exactly to 0 but it won't go away to the next animal. love the game though :0
One Sunday, I was incredibly bored. I joined my friends' Discord server, but even with them, it wasn’t fun. So, I decided to check out itch.io and browse through some web games. That’s when I stumbled upon this masterpiece.
My grandfather was a sailor and also a fisherman, so the game immediately caught my attention. I started playing—and got completely hooked. I cleaned fish, got absorbed in the process, and didn’t even notice how time flew by. This game turned my dull Sunday into something enjoyable and lifted my mood.
something I'd play on cool math for hours at a time. also; the audio glitches out for me whenever a bigger fish loads (a sunfish, or a tuna) . keep that in
If you don't play fullscreen for the scaling minigame, the itch.io buttons cover the "okay" button in the upper right, and you can click it and will change colour but it won't act like it was clicked.
Really cute game!! Love the style of it, the concept of needing to de-scale the fish after catching them gives it a uniqueness compared to many other boatfishing type games :D Also love all the little jokes, like the boat name and the tiny amogus on the shop logo kek
Update: I just fed some poor sea turtle an entire [REDACTED]
loved the game! great gameplay loop. The only piece of feedback I have is that I wish the Next Fish button in the scaling screen was its own separate button instead of having to find it in the all done menu. but great job, loved the art!
This game is so satisfying and relaxing! The artstyle is my favorite (retro but good-looking). I also noticed how well you managed the progression system; upgrades make the game easier and you feel more powerful after you buy them, but it doesn't take out of the challenge, since you also have to avoid smaller fish in order to get the bigger ones.
I really enjoyed this. The upgrades made me laugh. I'm pleased to be able to say that this game doesn't appear to impose its own controls, making it friendly with profilers (such as JoyToKey) and is therefore highly controller-flexible. It's even possible to imagine playing this in multiplayer form, in which one person does the hook steering, and another does the cutting.
Because of its controller flexibility, this game is eligible to appear on my new site, Conflex Games.
so cute!! I would love a fish inventory system in the full version! This is kind of nitpicky but having a separate section for the fish trivia would've been better. almost didn't notice it under the instructions of the scaling section. overall I loved the game and all the fishies!
It's a great relaxing game with a feeling like from Stardew Valley, and had such adorable graphics! It's a bit laggy when loading larger fish such as the Blue Tuna or the Ocean Sunfish, but I still recommend :)
fun short game, could have great potential with future content/more items to buy & fish to catch
even see it flourish greatly as a mobile/switch title with a little bit of story mode
an small issue when using the browser version is the itchio UI? to the upper right, it blocks the checkmark icon when you need to move to a new fish if you aren’t in fullscreen mode (atleast on my end)
