I am a Monster Saving the Princess I Captured While Trying Not to Let My Boss Dragon Notice Because They Are Unpleasant
A downloadable game for Windows
A puzzle game made for the GMTK Game Jam 2023. As the evil dragon's minions, try to rescue the princess without drawing suspicion to your betrayal!
~=-------------STORY------------=~
The princess has been captured, but she really isn't a fan of the hero! It's now up to you, the minions of the evil dragon, to reverse the roles and be the ones to rescue her!
But be careful, because if you act too suspicious, the dragon will take notice and your escape plan will be foiled! Not to worry, however--you can easily gain his trust back by slaying a hero or two!
~=-------------CONTROLS------------=~
- WASD Movement
- Space to switch time between day/night
- Q and E to switch between characters
- R to restart levels
- esc to exit levels
The dragon's suspicion bar is in the bottom-right corner. Rescue the princess without it completely filling up!

~=-------------NOTES------------=~
This game was made as part of the GMTK Game Jam 2023, with the theme of "Role Reversal". We twisted the idea in three main ways: The game's theme of monsters (instead of a hero) saving the princess, doing it without the big bad dragon noticing, and the ability to swap between a day and night state, changing the primary function of the monsters you are controlling.

I'm not good at puzzle games, but I really liked it because it was just the right level of difficulty, and the story kept me engaged, and the mechanics of the game were really interesting. The dragon's gauge fills up every time the night and day change... The artwork is really cute and everything. It's a puzzle game, but it's the best!
Good work! Art is really greaat. I was stuck in the level 3, didn't manage to understand what I should do with the crate.
